Worth
it?
Sendoa checks the sea at your spots and tells you which one works, at what time, and whether it suits your level. In one sentence. Tides too, even with no signal.
Which one, and when.
You know your spots. What you want to know is which one works today and when to go. Sendoa weighs tide, swell, wind and light for each of them, for your board and your level, and makes the call in one sentence, with the window. The numbers are there, one swipe down, if you want them.
The night before, or at 6 with one eye open
Your spots on one screen, each with its call and its window. You know which one to pick and when to set the alarm, without cross-checking three tables.
For your level
Tell it your board, your level and the biggest size you're comfortable in. It says "Big for you" when it is, and warns you when the tide range and currents make it serious.
Saturday or Sunday?
Seven days of forecast, all included. Beyond three days it tells you things can still move, so you pick your day without trusting an over-confident forecast.
Tides you can trust, even offline
340 ports computed on your iPhone: times to the minute, heights and coefficient for the week. On your lock screen as a widget.
Every word explained
Period, coefficient, offshore: tap a number and one line tells you what it means. You learn the sea while you surf.
Made for the beach
High contrast in full sun, readable with one wet hand. A home-screen widget gives your spot's call before you even open the app.
To the minute. Checkable.
Checking against the tide tables? Good. At Brest our high and low waters land, as a median, within a minute of SHOM's measurements, and the coefficient matches. Outside France, twelve Spanish ports out of twelve stay within four minutes of mean error, and nine British ports out of nine within eight. It's all computed on your iPhone: no signal needed on the beach or at the harbour.

The full reportSecret spots.
A spot you'd rather not share? Drop a pin on the map, say which way the beach faces and which tide you like: you get the same forecast as for any other spot. It stays on your phone; nobody else sees it. Nothing is sent except a 1 km cell for the forecast.
One price. Once.
No subscription, no ads, no account, no trackers. You buy the app, it's yours, and it still works in ten years on a beach with no signal. Family Sharing included.
£4.49 in the UK, $4.99 in the US, A$7.99 in Australia, R89.99 in South Africa. iPhone, iOS 26+, in English, French and Spanish. Secret spots option at the same price, once as well.
Is it for my level?
Yes. In the app, tell it your board, your level and the biggest size you're comfortable in: every spot's call takes it into account. An experienced-only spot says so, and a big tide or a solid swell comes with a warning.
Does it work offline?
Tides, yes, always. Swell and wind show the last forecast received, with its time.
Where do swell and wind come from?
From Open-Meteo, which assembles Météo-France models (AROME, ARPEGE, MFWAM) and ECMWF/Copernicus. We route them through a small cache so the app stays fast and the subscription is on us, not you.
Which countries?
France, Spain, the United Kingdom, the United States, Australia and South Africa: 227 spots and 340 tide ports. Every spot runs on its own beach's clock, in metres or feet, in km/h, mph or knots. The app speaks English, French and Spanish. Your spot isn't there? Ask for it from the app.
Whose tides are these?
Our own computations. In France, from SHOM's open observations (REFMAR, open licence); in the United States, from the constants NOAA publishes; elsewhere, from TICON-4 (DGFI-TUM, CC-BY 4.0). They are no hydrographic office's official prediction, but we publish our accuracy port by port. For navigation, use official documents.
Do you track my location?
No. Sendoa never asks for location: you pick your spots. No usage statistics, no trackers — nothing leaves your phone except the forecast request.
My spot isn't there.
In the app, "My spot isn't there" sends us your spot (name, landmarks, pin) and your e-mail so we can reply. Every entry is rewritten and checked before it's added. And if you'd rather keep it to yourself: the Secret spots option.
What is the Secret spots option?
A one-time £4.49 purchase that lets you add your own spots, unlimited, with the same forecast as the others. They are never shown to anyone and stay on your phone.
Why "Sendoa"?
It's a Basque name. It comes from sendo: solid. That's the word for a swell that holds, long enough, clean enough, serious enough to be worth the drive.
